office pic1Before I was a professional IT consultant I was nurtured during the PC glory days as a repair technician working on regular desktops and laptops. Eventually I received the opportunity to work as what I can only describe as an apprentice doing network and system admin work for the SMB and enterprise market around the Effingham area. After working for some time as a network and system admin for the areas finest businesses, I discovered that I was more effective and valuable when I began asking the client more questions about what it is they are actually trying to do with their IT infrastructure rather than just trying to fix what they thought they needed as their IT infrastructure.

Today I run an IT consultant business on three simple guidelines. The first is know what you are talking about.  The second, be the best -truly the best – at what you are doing.  Finally, the third guideline is communicate well with the client.

I do not advertise.  I don’t cold call for new clients.  I don’t talk down about any perceived competition to make myself appear superior.  I assume if you are reading this then you are trying to find out who I am, curious about what I’m up to, or genuinely trying to find out if I’d be a good fit for you because you’ve heard about me from another client.  100% of the business I have is word of mouth so I’ll let you browse my resume and let you make up your own mind.
